Biography
Nina Berlingeri established her practice as a New York based artist in 2014 during her residency at the Vaclav Vytlacil estate of the Art Students League of New York. She began working in commercial arts fabrication across NYC and the Hudson River Valley, and by 2017 had spent one year studying the light on the Hudson River from her studio located in the Edward Hopper House. She continued to study the light on the Hudson more intimately during her 2018 artist residency living in the historic Nyack home of Carson McCullers.
Most recently, Berlingeri’s paintings were exhibited in RoCA’s 2023 “New Voices: Rockland’s Next Generation” group exhibition, highlighting six young artists deemed by RoCA as those carrying the torch of the area’s historic artist enclave. Her self portraits from “New Voices” were also featured in her 2023 interview with Today news.
While Berlingeri’s paintings have been exhibited across New York City and the Hudson River Valley, the majority of her work is collected directly from her studio into over a dozen private collections. Berlingeri’s current approach to her painting practice, surrounding resonance, memory, and the unseen, has most recently been published in her artist talk with Perry Lawson Gallery to be released Fall 2024. Berlingeri continues to paint and live in the Hudson River Valley.
